Sam Silek is currently serving as Senior Director, Strategic Channels at Medtronic Diabetes.

He is responsible for promoting pharmacy revenue growth and identifying and implementing processes and systems to modernize pharmacy infrastructure. In addition, he is responsible for developing Medtronic Diabetes retail strategy and distribution.

Sam has over 37 years of experience in Pharmacy, Sales, and Healthcare Operations.  Sam attended the University of Virginia for undergraduate studies and earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Medical College of Virginia.

Sam began his career as a retail pharmacist and store manager at a large drug store chain in 1983.  He eventually worked in the Professional Services Group for Hook-SuperX in Cincinnati, Ohio.  In 1995, Sam went to work for National Diabetic Pharmacies and eventually worked his way to become President until it was acquired by PolyMedica (Liberty Medical Supply). In 2007, PolyMedica was acquired by Medco Health Solutions, Inc. and shortly thereafter, he was named Senior Vice President of Business Development.  In that role, Sam was accountable for all commercial, PBM, and manufacturing contracts.  Sam eventually became responsible for all inside and outside sales teams. In 2012, Sam was promoted to Executive Vice President at Liberty Medical Supply where he worked with the team on restructuring efforts post spin-off from Express Scripts. Subsequent to his tenure at Liberty, Sam worked as Senior Director of Commercial Operations and Distribution for Senseonics, Inc.  In that role, Sam was responsible for inside sales, distribution networks, and state licensure.  Sam joined Medtronic Diabetes in April 2020, as Sr Director of Program Sales supporting Pharmacy Solutions, was promoted to Sr Director of Pharmacy Solutions in August 2020 until which time he was named Sr Director of Strategic Channels.
