Zoe Witt (she/they) oversees social media and outreach for Mutual Aid Diabetes and is a Seattle-based freelance writer covering disability and chronic illness. MAD was organized during the pandemic, and practices the anarchist concept of mutual-aid by helping diabetics navigate the convoluted healthcare and insurance systems to obtain insulin, medications, and supplies. After being diabetic in America for over 18 years, Zoe has spent significant time rationing insulin: both while uninsured, and periodically throughout the years while insured.
